Taiwanese laptop maker Clevo has released the X7200 17.3-inch gaming notebook, featuring dual GeForce GTX 480M video cards and Intel desktop CPUs.

Besides two Nvidia GeForce GTX 480M GPUs in SLI configuration with 2GB of GDDR5 video memory, the Clevo X7200 comes with the Intel Core i7 LGA1366 processor, up to the six-core i7-975, and has three DDR3 SoDIMM memory slots for up to 12GB of RAM. There are three 2.5″ hard drive bays with RAID 0/1/5 support, and a Bly-ray or DVD optical drive.

Its 17.3″ glossy display has a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

The notebook also has five speakers, including a subwoofer, Dolby Home Theater audio technology, optional TV tuner, a 3MP web camera, mic, two USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, DVI-I, and S/PDIF outputs, optional HDMI input port, a 9-in-1 media card reader, eSATA and Firewire connectors, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options, and Gigabit LAN.

It features an aluminum body and weighs around 12 pounds with its 78.44WH battery, that is capable to power the system for an hour.

The Clevo X7200 is Windows 7 compatible and is available via Sager, AVA Direct, iBuyPower and other sellers for a base price of around $3,500 when configured with dual GTX 480M.

Research in Motion (RIM) has officially introduced a tablet device called BlackBerry PlayBook.

The PlayBook is designed for web browsing, communication, multimedia, entertainment, and business. Measuring less than half an inch thick, the 0.9-pound tablet has a 7-inch multi-touch capacitive display at 1024×600 pixels and runs the brand new QNX-based BlackBerry Tablet OS with multitasking support and out-of-the-box compatibility with BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

RIM’s tablet supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and HTML 5 and is capable to play 1080p HD videos. It supports applications based on Adobe Mobile AIR, POSIX, OpenGL, Java, and the just announced BlackBerry WebWorks app platform that “will allow apps to be written to run on PlayBook tablets as well as BlackBerry smartphones with BlackBerry 6 OS”.

BlackBerry PlayBook users will be able to connect the tablet to a BlackBerry smartphone via a secure Bluetooth connection.

“This means they can opt to use the larger tablet display to seamlessly and securely view any of the email, BBM, calendar, tasks, documents and other content that resides on (or is accessible through) their smartphone. They can also use their tablet and smartphone interchangeably without worrying about syncing or duplicating data,” RIM says.

The PlayBook will be able to access 3G mobile broadband networks via existing BlackBerry smartphone service plans and has built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, as well as Bluetooth 2.1. In addition, RIM intends to offer PlayBook models with embedded 3G and 4G connectivity.

Regarding core computing components, the device runs on a 1GHz ARM dual-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. It is expected to ship with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage capacity.

The PlayBook features a front facing 3MP and rear-racing 5MP web camera, and microHDMI and microUSB ports.

It is expected to hit the U.S. market in early 2011 with rollouts in other international markets beginning in Q2 2011.

Lenovo has expanded its ThinkPad Edge laptop family for small businesses with the 11.6-inch ThinkPad Edge 11.

The 1.1-inch thin Edge 11 starts at less than three pounds. It’s now the smallest and lightest ThinkPad Edge model and offers the choice of Intel Core/Pentium or AMD Vision Pro Athlon ultra low voltage processors, and a battery life of up to seven hours.

Lenovo’s new laptop provides Wi-Fi and optional 3G or 4G/WiMAX connectivity, and has a contemporary style spill-proof keyboard, webcam, three USB ports, an HDMI port, and a 4-in-1 media card reader.

The ThinkPad Edge 11 runs Windows 7 OS and comes in three color choices: Midnight Black Glossy, Midnight Black Smooth and Heatwave Red Glossy.

The notebook is available immediately through business partners and starts at $449, according to Lenovo.

LG Electronics has announced the Xnote A510 laptop with 3D technology and a 15.6-inch full HD display.

The LG Xnote A510 features Intel’s Core i7 740QM and 840QM quad-core processors and Nvidia GeForce GT425M 1GB dedicated video card. It ships with polarized 3D glasses, a set of clip-on 3D lenses for regular glasses, and TriDef 2D to 3D conversion software.

The notebook has SRS TruSurround HD audio technology and HDMI 1.4 output.

LG said it will release the Xnote A510 in Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa starting in October 2010. There’s no info on pricing and availability in other continents.

MSI has updated the G Series gaming laptop line with the GT663 15.6-inch model, featuring the Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M dedicated video card.

Besides the GTX 460M with 1.5GB of GDDR5 video memory, the MSI GT633 includes a Core i7 quad-core processor, three DDR3 memory slots for a maximum of 12GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage using two 500GB hard drives, a DVD burner, and a LED backlight display with “full HD or HD” resolution.

The notebook has DTS Surround Sensation UltraPC audio technology and built-in 2.1 speaker system, a 720p/30fps web camera, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Gigabit LAN, and HDMI and VGA outputs.

MSI’s GT663 incorporates Turbo Drive Engine+ technology for “boosting system speed for enhanced processor and display performance” and Cooler Boost technology for enhanced system cooling. Both technologies can be activated with a single touch of a dedicated hotkey above the keyboard.

The laptop weighs 7.7 pounds and runs Windows 7 OS.

Super Talent has announced it is currently manufacturing the world’s first over-clocked 4GB laptop memory modules running at 1600MHz.

The new SO-DIMM modules are designed for use in gaming notebooks and mobile workstations.

“While several manufactures are shipping DDR3 SO-DIMMs, used in laptops and notebooks, supporting clock speeds of 1333 MHz, Super Talent’s has moved beyond this limitation and produced a DDR3 SO-DIMM capable of over-clocking to an incredible 1600 MHz,” the press release says.

According to the company, the new 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM was tested conducted in the HP Envy 17-1011NR 17″ laptop.

Israeli newspaper Ynet has reported that Asustek is going to release the Asus Eee Pad EP90 8.9-inch tablet computer.

The EP90 is based on the Nvidia Tegra platform with a dual core 1GHz processor. It most likely runs Microsoft Windows 7 Embedded OS, since Ynet suggests that the device will be able to run Microsoft Office suite.

Asustek’s tablet reportedly weighs 650 grams and has a 1024×600 touch display, 16GB or 32GB of storage, a 4-6 hour battery life, 0.3MP front-facing camera, HDMI port, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Samsung today officially announced the NF310 netbook, featuring a 10.1-inch display and Intel Atom dual-core processor.

Besides the Atom N550 at 1.5GHz and 720p screen resolution, the Samsung NF310 includes 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, battery life of “more than 9 hours”, Windows 7 Starter OS, stereo speakers, and 802.11n Wi-Fi.

The 2.87-pound netbook has an island style spill-resistant keyboard, contoured “Titan Silver” case, and Fast Start feature, which allows users to put the NF310 in an advanced state of sleep and restore a Windows session in “as little as 3 seconds”.

According to Samsung’s press release, the NF310 will be available this fall with a $399 price tag.

California-based Cherrypal today announced the CherryPad America sub $200 tablet computer, featuring a 7-inch display, Android 2.1 operating system with “full access to the Android Market” and a Samsung ARM11 800MHz processor.

“The CherryPad America features a 7-inch resistive touch widescreen display (no stylus needed) at 800×480 resolution with built-in gravity sensor. Memory, storage and wireless functions include 256 MBs of DDRII RAM; 2 GB NAND Flash; Micro SD (1x) reader, and WiFi 802.11 b/g.

Standard I/O ports include USB 2.0 supported by an external adapter; 3.5 mm headphone jack, built-in speakers and microphone, DC port, optional external 3G modem. The CherryPad America’s Polymer 3200 MAH battery has a run time of 6-8 hours. The device weighs just 1.1 pounds and is housed in a sturdy aluminum case,” the press release says.

The tablet and other Cherrypal products will be exclusively sold through Zecozi in the United States. The tablet has a a MSRP of $188.

Upgrade to Android 2.2 is expected by the end of 2010.

Logitech unveiled today the Speaker Lapdesk N550 stand for sub-14″ laptops and netbooks.

The Lapdesk N550 has two built-in stereo speakers with maximum 2W of power, a heat-shielding design, ten-degree angled riser, and dedicated volume control buttons.

The speakers are powered through a USB connector.

Logitech’s Lapdesk N550 is available now for $59.99.
