At the ongoing 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, LG Electronics is showcasing the LG Optimus Pad Android tablet, also known as the G-Slate for T-Moble network in the U.S.
The LG Optimus Pad / T-Mobile G-Slate features an 8.9-inch 1280 x 768 multitouch display and supports 3D video recording and playback. On the back of the device there’s a 3D camera. For viewing 3D content on the tablet’s display, users must use separatelly sold 3D glasses.
LG’s G-Slate runs Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” OS, with access to Android market. OS and apps are powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor, supporting full HD video playback.
According to LG’s press release, the LG Optimus Pad will begin shipping in local markets starting in March.
