As is reported by Nielsen, a third of us tweet while watching TV. You must want to keep away from that when you know the fact. According to Michigan State University assistant psychology professor Mark Becker, multitasking with modern devices is bad for your mental health. They are making you depressed.
Taking the devices into account , there are more and more advanced games devices, tablets, laptops for pleasure or work. It is a common phenomonon to own two or more devices, PSP, iPad, laptops, Samsung tablets, etc..
Becker finished a survey about multitasking with different media – using a iPhone while using iPad, Watching TV while using a laptop or other tablets etc.
We don’t know whether the media multitasking is causing symptoms of depression and social anxiety, or if it’s that people who are depressed and anxious are turning to media multitasking as a form of distraction from their problems.
My personal comments :
Though the information era brings us lots of high tech, we should also pay attention to the bad effects it has brought. It is better to balance our life with multitasking. And keep a good mental health. Devices are our essencial tools to live better and they should not be the burdon and chains that constrain us.
