Android 2 i8000 Omnia, something is moving

After watching HD Omnia Windows Mobile 7, arrive at some information about porting Android Omnia i8000 2. The project began a few months but right now there seems no real hope. There have been small steps forward, but unfortunately for now you can not get anything working. The reason seems to lie in the Android source code released by Samsung that are incomplete. What is missing are some very important parts that would preclude this possibility of porting. Despite this, something is moving, and we show below.

The theme recreates in a fluid and functional Windows 7 Phone including the three now famous keys. The videos show the theme in action on a HD2 Sony Ericsson X1 and although it will be compatible with many other devices.

According to the latest rumors and information provided by the Indonesian authorities, Nokia may soon introduce the new X2 (RM-618). As already announced, having a low ID number, the X2 should be a low-end device, although details are very few available.

The phone should only support GSM, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, with the addition of the Bluetooth module.
We hope to receive more information as soon as possible.

Google is also coming on our televisions with Google TV

Google and its world are increasingly invading our everyday lives. Android with its thousands of uses we will soon see in uncommon equipment: fridges, ovens, cordless telephones and who knows what else. Soon Chrome OS will be installed on netbooks and internet tablet but the strata Google does not end there. According to The New York Times, Google has partnered are Sony and Intel to create a platform for television called Google TV.

The agreement will bring the web experience inside of our house without using a computer. The new televisions will have an integrated Intel Atom processor and is not excluded that the hardaware is very similar to that of the classic netbook, which will allow you to run a particular system (perhaps an adapted version of Chrome OS) that allow you to surf the net , stay connected to Google services and some social networks, and probably also handle other features.

A new experience, more and more connected to the Internet and Google increasingly oriented.

In 2010, sales of desktop computers will also increase due to the iMac

In recent years, including purchases that people make, we see more and more increase the number of netbook at the expense of desktop computers, which year after year continue to decline. According to the analyst for Caris & Company Robert CIHR, but 2010 will be levied for the year of the PC.

Leading the recovery we will once again Apple, for its unique and powerful iMac introduced in October last year. The growth of desktop PCs in 2010 is estimated at around 3% (high compared to the decrease of 12% in 2009), to which the iMac will contribute at least 1 / 4.

The iMac has contributed to record sales in the first quarter of fiscal 2010 and the month of November 2009 recorded a growth of 74% over the same month of 2008.

Caris & Company analyst continues praising Apple for having kept entirely intact the average selling price of the iMac, leading many people to the actual upgrade from the old to the new version of iMac.

For 2010 we expect, for what the department that covers everything Mac, a growth of more than 1.6 times the industry average.

Next step: iMac Multitouch ….

Tablet PC for Samsung in 2010?

Samsung has always sought new ways and new forms of mobile communication. Back in 2007 launched the Samsung Q1, a small touch screen computers belonging to the range of UMPCs (ultra) with external USB keyboard that has undergone several upgrades over the years. A very interesting technological solution but has never been as successful as hoped. The year 2010 has become the year of the Korean Tablet and the company seems interested in developing a device belonging to this category of products.

Philip Newton, director of the division of Samsung Australia, has announced that the company is working on a Tablet PC is that:

“Our Tablet very high processing power and seamless connectivity”

Carl Zeiss is celebrating 120 years in the production of lenses

Officially born November 17, 1846 in the small German city of Jena, a small idea of the name Carl Zeiss optics, the eponymous company celebrates 120 years in these days the construction of the first lens dedicated to photography.

Was in fact in 1890 when the now-businessman Carl decided to expand the horizons of the company, looking intently at that time seemed to be a world without a doubt the “Wonderland”: photography.

This form of art, which from the beginning of 1800 had begun to take root in the Old World, Carl Zeiss convinced to invest time and money on building new camera lens and today, some 120 years later, we can safely say that there was a perfect fit.

The Zeiss lenses were mounted on machines that accompanied man in his first trip to the moon, in the following years the company was able to build very light lenses (f/0.7, f/0.85 ef/1.0), as Today also happens to have been used to record important art film.

Well, happy birthday to Carl Zeiss!

Samsung Galaxy S is with Google?

The picture is quite clear and leaves no doubts about the apparently written “with Google,” a sign that distinguishes all the Google Mobile Experience. There is no information at the time certain but if it is not a cover of “prototype” and then set to change, the written word could have very positive implications for the future owners of this terminal.

With the writing, Google should provide continuous updates of the system in coming months. Past experience, however, not certain bases. If we think of Magic HTC, Google Experience another terminal, we see how that has received the update Donut 1.6 last year but still has not been updated to version Eclair. Sign so that this “famous” written really does not warrant immediate updates of the system.

We’ll see if there will be news. Meanwhile, we announce another new video and pictures of the Samsung Galaxy S.

WiMax in Italy, Mandarin is already a reality and with the Nauta

These days you are taking the Nauta, the Boat Show 2010 which will end March 28. Among the many new features to navigate, one has caught our attention. Do not talk about boats, but Web browsing through Wi-Max technology offered by Mandarin, a partner at Nauta pemetterà 2010 that all connect to internet with broadband.

We have often spoken of Wi-Max, especially in recent days after the HTC EVO, top range Android’s first handset with this technology. But what exactly is this technology and what it offers?

WiMAX stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, is the last frontier in terms of wireless data transmissions and is the standard that guarantees the best performance ever with regard to the broadband market.

Flexibility
The ease of installation and distribution make it the ideal technology for use not only in urban but also rural areas.

Security
Access to frequencies exclusively licensed WiMAX technology already makes it extremely safe. Add to this the implementation of various encryption techniques, authentication and security against intrusion.

Mobility
With 802.16e, WiMAX allows a connection with nomadic. Therefore guarantees within the network coverage, the ability to move with their WiMax equipment.

insights wikipedia.org / wiki / WiMAX

Given the lack of ADSL coverage in suburban areas, we hope that this technology may soon take hold to a greater extent.

We followed each other directly WiMax for years and unfortunately we can say that things are slow in our country. More than all the other countries had to wait for the Ministry of Defence to vacate the frequencies. It ‘was made then a notice to pay, and some major companies have been awarded frequencies.

After that nothing. Retelit as listed companies, which owns most of the frequencies for the North ‘s Italy and after over 2 years ago a television program in collaboration with CFN CNBC successful, has not yet presented anything concrete.

One of the most active companies was ariadsl, services advertised shortly and unfortunately not very widespread. We hope something concrete is done and that we can finally have real internet anywhere!

BlackBerry 9900

We got 9900 problems but a choice of networks ain’t one — Vodafone and Three have confirmed they’re planning to sell the newly announced BlackBerry Bold 9900, and O2 has just revealed to CNET UK that it will also offer the 9900.

The 9900 was revealed yesterday by BlackBerry-makers RIM at BlackBerry World in Florida, which is either a conference dedicated to RIM’s popular business-focused smart phones or the world’s worst theme park.

The Qwerty keyboard-packing 9900 will be the thinnest BlackBerry smart phone, at 10.5mm thick. It boasts a 1.2GHz processor and 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen with 287dpi resolution. There’s 8GB of memory for storing your music, video and photos, snapped with the 5-megapixel camera and filmed with the 720p video camera.

The other major networks, Orange and T-Mobile, have yet to confirm whether they too will sell the 9900, but it’s pretty likely. Orange and T-Mobile are now united as one company under the Everything Everywhere banner, so if one sells the 9900 the other probably will too.

The 9900 will be the first phone to pack BlackBerry 7 .0OS, the next generation of CrackBerry software. It offers voice search, faster browsing and a new-look Liquid graphics interface. Other adjustments include improved support for augmented-reality apps, HTML 5 and 720p high-definition video recording. The new software also works with near-field communication, a feature that hasn’t quite caught on here in Blighty yet.

As for when you’ll be able to get the 9900 snugly slotted into your belt holster, Three has only revealed it’ll be “soon”, and O2 says specifics will follow.

RollerPhone

Say hello to the Rollerphone concept! At first glance it’s merely a wrist band that projects time, much like the Alessi Concept we saw earlier, but then you realize it’s actually a phone with a retractable transparent screen at the base. How high-tech! It features perfect ergonomics and anthropometry in design thanks to customization – meaning the screen unfurls only to the tip of your fingers, so basically it give you a good fit between the ear and the mouth.

Besides the obvious features found in the latest cellphones, Rollerphone boasts of an enviable media centre. You can watch videos, chat online, play games, read books and listen to music. It’s going to be hard parting with a phone like this, who wouldn’t want their entire digital world on their wrist!

PSP Phone

Today, the evidence of the new half-game, half-phone Android device emerged again as someone spotted the PlayStation controls within the software development kit for Gingerbread, or version 2.3 of the Android operating system. The SDK references the L1, L2, R1, R2 controls that are familiar to game players as Sony controls. But the kit does not include a reference to the Square, Triangle, X and Circle buttons of a typical PlayStation controller.

Here’s what’s confirmed to come with the Xperia Play:

Android 2.3 Gingerbread
4 inch 854 x 480 touchscreen display
Customizable Sony Ericsson homescreen
“better build quality than the PSP Go”
Sliding gamepad with touchpads instead of DualShock mechanical sticks
Single-core, 1GHz Qualcomm processor
5MP camera, which takes rather impressive photos
800 x 480 video recording (could be upgraded to HD recording before the handset is launched)
Sony is trying to keep its PlayStation Phone a secret, it’s not doing a great job. This is Sony’s answer to the iPhone and the Nintendo DS, which are both trouncing Sony in the handheld gaming market.

Finally after all this time and thouands of inquires, the day has come….I’m going to start building and selling the famous “Steampunk Laptop”.

The photos above are the prototype that I built about 5 years ago for my own amusement using inferior tools, a free laptop, and very little money. My abilities, resources and standards have grown tenfold since then and the new laptops will be loosely based upon the general theme of the original, but with much finer fit and finish and with emphasis on usability.

These new versions will be better and faster than my original prototype, featuring cutting-edge internal components capable of running any of today’s games and other software. They will also be much lighter and slimmer, so as to actually still be “portable” and as convenient as a standard laptop, and have a much more refined and professional design while retaining the elegant Victorian styling of my other work. Several customizations will be available including a few different options for the design on the LCD lid including clockworks as seen on the original (except these will be semi-functional and spin), recessed gold foil maps, brass plates with a variety of designs engraved or photo-etched into them, and any other ideas I can think up along the way. I also plan to include a key-shaped USB flash drive with every laptop that will also open a brass lock on each machine. Why not add a little analog security to your digital device? You will also have several options as to the color of the wood stain from light oak to a dark red mahagony and anywhere in-between as well as key fonts, metals, LED colors and styles, etc, etc.

For the sake of standardization and in consideration for the extremely proprietary nature of Mac’s hardware and software, I will probably only make a PC hardware version at first, but if you have your heart set on Mac, there are many simple ways to install the Mac OS on a PC laptop with almost no noticeable differences in function.

Dell Inspiron 15R

The Basic, Everyday User
The Dell Inspiron line should be familiar to anyone who has shopped
for an affordable laptop in the past decade or so. The 15R is another
serviceable configuration in a long line of serviceable configurations.
It packs an Intel Core i3 processor and 4GB RAM, so it’ll handle just
about any task you throw at it, including some photo or video editing.
The 15.6-inch LED screen is big enough for watching movies, but small
enough to move around. For students and casual users, this is a great
middle-of-the-road option.
Build quality is superb, and we particularly like the smart brushed-metal
finish on the lid and keyboard panel. A chrome rim around the keyboard
adds a touch of style. The keyboard itself looks a bit cheaper than the older
model’s: it has flat, separated keys rather than the comfortably moulded
keys of its sibling. The key action isn’t as crisp either, and there’s a bit of
flex in the whole keyboard.
A numberpad is squeezed into the right-hand side, and has smaller keys
than the main keyboard. It still retains large “0″, Enter and “+” keys so those
used to data entry will soon get used to it. The touchpad is large and responsive,
and has two large buttons with a pleasantly light action.
