Asus Eee Pad Officially Announced

Asustek has officially unveiled the Eee Pad, a 12-inch ultra-slim Windows-based tablet computer which operates as a PC, Internet device, e-reader, and multimedia player.

The Eee Pad EP121 features a CULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor, two modes of character input – an on-screen virtual keyboard and a special docking station keyboard, Windows 7 Home Premium OS, and more than 10 hours of battery life.

For greater mobility, there is also the 1.5 pound pocket-friendly 10-inch Eee Pad EP101TC. It runs on Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS.

There is no official info on pricing and availability for the new tablet devices. According to earlier rumors, the Eee Pad is expected in the third quarter of 2010, with an estimated price between $479 and $510.

ASUS-Preparing-USB-3-0-Laptops-2

Asustek Computer has released the Asus U-Bamboo and NX/N/U series laptops.

The U-Bamboo laptops feature a chassis made of bamboo, 13.3-, 14.1- and 15.6-inch panels, Intel’s Core i5-450M processor, Nvidia GeForce 310M 1GB dedicated graphics, and USB 3.0 support.

The NX90JQ will have the Intel’s Core i7-720QM processor, Nvidia GeForce “334M” 1GB graphics, 8GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB of hard drive storage, USB 3.0, and Sonic Master audio technology, which Asustek jointly developed with Bang and Olufsen ICEpower.

Asustek will also launch the model N53Jh featuring a 15.6-inch display, 13.3-inch U35 and a 14.4-inch U45.

The U-Bamboo series pricing will range from $1,288 to $1,351. It will be available in mid-June. The NX90JQ will be available in July for $2680. The U35, U45 will be priced at US $1,200 and $1,260, but there is no info on availability.

Asus Eee PC T101MT

Asustek has announced the Asus Eee PC T101MT, a 10.1-inch multi-touch convertible netbook.

Along with the 1024×600 LED backlight display that supports Windows 7 multi-touch gestures and uses resistive technology, the Eee PC T101MT features the Intel Atom N450 processor and Windows 7 Starter or Home Premium OS.

The tablet netbook with Starter edition has 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB hard drive, whereas the Home Premium-based model includes 2GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD.

Both versions feature a 35Wh battery for up to 6.5-hour run time, a 0.3MP web camera and microphone, stereo speakers, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, three USB ports, a multi-in-one media card reader, and a VGA output.

The Eee PC T101MT weighs 2.86lbs and comes in white or black color.

Asustek’s new multimedia laptop – the 15.6-inch Asus UL50 – is now available in the US.

Amazon offers the black UL50Ag-A1 model, featuring the Intel SU7300 ultra-low voltage processor at 1.3GHz, the GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 4GB of DDR2 memory, a 320GB hard drive with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed, a DVD burner, and a claimed battery life of 11 hours. Its 15.6″ glare-type LED backlight display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.

The Asus UL50Ag includes Altec Lansing stereo speakers with SRS Premium Sound technology, a 0.3MP web camera, HDMI and VGA outputs, 802.11b/g/n wireless, a Gigabit LAN port, three USB ports, and a 5-in-1 media card reader.

The laptop weighs around 5 pounds and has a brushed aluminum lid.

The UL50Ag-A1 is priced at $799.99.

Asustek has also unveiled details of the Asus UL50Vg that includes switchable integrated/dedicated graphics.
