Lenovo’s recently announced IdeaPad U350 thin-and-light 13.3-inch notebook, based on the Intel CULV platform, can be purchased now.

Starting at 3.52 pounds, the Lenovo IdeaPad U350 features the Intel Pentium SU2700 ultra-low voltage processor at 1.3GHz, the GMA 4500M integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 320GB of hard drive space. The notebook doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.

Its glossy display uses LED backlight and has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.

The U350 also sports a full size laptop keyboard, a multi-touch trackpad, a 1.3MP web camera and a microphone, stereo speakers, Dolby Home Sound Room technology, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, a Gigabit LAN port, three USB ports, a 4-in-1 media card reader, and HDMi and VGA outputs.

It comes with a 4 cell battery that provides “up to 5 hours” of run time, according to the product specifications.

Lenovo’s super-slim notebook, that measures 0.7 inches at its thinnest point, has a black top surface with square weave texture.

The IdeaPad U350 runs Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit OS.

Customers can order it at Lenovo.com for a base price of $679.

Lenovo Thinkpad T400s

Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad T400s 14.1″ thin-and-light business laptop, measuring in at 0.83 inches at its thinnest point and starting at 3.91 pounds.

The T400s, “nearly 20 percent” lighter than its ThinkPad T400 predecessor, features the Intel Core 2 Duo SP9400 2.4GHz or SP9600 2.53GHz processor, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 250GB HDD or up to 128GB solid state drive, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive.

The display resolution is 1440-by-900 pixels, according to a promotional video.

The notebook sports a new TinkPad keyboard and a 27% larger trackpad that supports multi-gesture input, a 2MP web camera, dual microphones, stereo speakers, optional Intel Turbo Memory for better system responsiveness, WiFi and Ethernet LAN, as well as optional WiMAX, mobile broadband, Bluetooth and ultrawideband connectivity. It’s interesting that the T400s supports up to two monitors via its Display Port and VGA connector. There are also an ExpressCard slot, a 5-in-1 media card reader, and three USB ports (one USB/eSATA combo).

The Lenovo ThinkPad T400s provides “nearly 6 hours” of operation on a single charge with its standard 6-cell battery.

It runs Windows XP or Vista Business OS and has a starting price of $1,599 at the Lenovo official online store.

Lenovo Pass Touch Test

Lenovo has announced that its eight ThinkPad laptops passed the “Tough Test”, meeting Military Specifications for semi-rugged computing.

“The ThinkPad X200, X301, X200s, X200 Tablet, T400, T500, R400 and SL300 laptops meet a barrage of military specifications tests and are enhanced with uniquely-designed durability features such as an airbag-like protection system and a roll cage in select models,” the company says.

These laptops met tests for low pressure, humidity, vibration, high and low temperatures, temperature shock, and dust.

Lenovo has also added a new optional 680-nit high brightness display to its the ThinkPad T400 14.1-inch laptop. The panel for outdoors use features LED backlight and is “nearly four times brighter than previous ThinkPad laptop screens”.

Lenovo Ideapad Y450

I introduced Lenovo Ideapad Y550 before, Lenovo has released the IdeaPad Y450, a 14-inch laptop for consumers.

The IdeaPad Y450 is a smaller sibling of the Y650 and the upcoming Y550. The new laptop features Intel’s Pentium or Core 2 Duo processor, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics or the NVIDIA GeForce G 105M 256MB dedicated video card, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space, a DVD burner, 802.11n WiFi, and a Bluetooth module in one of the offered models.

The 14″ LED backlight display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

According to Lenovo’s earlier announcement, the Y450 also features Dolby Home Theater surround sound, a web camera, and a multi-touch touchpad.

The latpop starts at $679.00 at the Lenovo website.

Lenovo Ideapad S10-2

Lenovo Ideapad S10-2

Lenovo today officially announced the IdeaPad S10-2, an improved version of their 10.1-inch S10 netbook.

The S10-2 is 0.2kg lighter and 4mm thinner than the S10 and includes a slightly larger and improved keyboard and larger touchpad, a 6-cell battery for “up to 30 percent more battery life than before”, an additional USB port for a total of 3 ports, and a new cover pattern and color design. The netbook’s sound system is upgraded with Dolby headphone technology, while select models also include a built-in 3G mobile broadband module.

A same as the S10, the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 features the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive, a built-in 1.3MP web camera, and 802.11b/g WiFi, and a 4-in-1 media card reader.

The netbook will come in white, black, grey, or pink.

The IdeaPad S10-2 will be available beginning at the end of this month on the Lenovo website and through business partners beginning at the end of June. The netbooks start at $349, whereas the models with 3G support are $50 pricier.

Along with the IdeaPad S12, Lenovo introduced today two new laptops – the 13.3-inch IdeaPad U350 for consumers and the 15.6-inch G550 for small and medium business users.

The U350 is a thin-and-light notebook based on Intel’s ultra low voltage processors – Core 2 Solo and Pentium ULV – and features up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 500GB of hard drive space, while its LED backlight display has a movie friendly 16:9 aspect ratio. The new IdeaPad also sports an HDMI output, Dolby Sound technology, and an Ambient Light Sensor which “automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness according to the lighting environment”.

On the other side, the Lenovo G550 business-oriented 15.6-incher is powered by the Intel Centrino 2 processor technology and choices of NVIDIA graphics.

The IdeaPad U350 laptop will be available starting in July for a base price of around $649, while the Lenovo G550 laptop will be available and will start at approximately $599.

The 15.6″ LED backlight display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

According to the earlier announcement, the IdeaPad Y550 also features Dolby Home Theater surround sound, a web camera, and a multi-touch touchpad.
