Hewlett-Packard has released the HP Mini 5103 business netbook with optional touchscreen and the latest Intel Atom processors.

The HP Mini 5103 features a 10.1-inch 1024×600 or 1366×768 LED-backlit display with optional capacitive multitouch tehnology, the Atom N475 1.83GHz or N455 1.66GHz processor with the GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard disk space or up to 128GB solid state drive storage, a 4- or 6-cell battery, optional Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for 720p and 1080p HD video playback, and Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Starter or SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 OS.

HP’s new mini-laptop also includes a 2MP web camera, stereo speakers, stereo microphones, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, HP Mobile Broadband powered by Gobi with GPS, three USB ports, a Secure Digital slot, VGA output, a spill-resistant keyboard, and an optional detachable handle.

The 2.64-pound non-touchscreen and the 2.86-pound touchscreen 5103 netbooks have metal cases with magnesium alloy support structure and metal alloy hinges and are available in three colors: espresso, red, and blue.

In the US, the HP Mini 5103 can be purchased via HP’s online store for a base price of $399.

HP Mini 210 Now with Dual-Core Atom

Hewlett-Packard has released the refreshed HP Mini 210 netbook, which now offers a dual-core Intel Atom option, DDR3 memory instead of DDR2, a redesigned chassis to accommodate a higher-capacity battery, and new color options.

Default battery in the updated Mini 210 is an “inline” 6-cell unit now, replacing the standard 3-cell pack.

HP has also announced availability of the dual-core Atom-powered HP 5103 business netbook.

When configured with the dual-core CPU, the Mini 210 starts at $394.99. The single-core 5103 starts at $399, while the price for the dual-core version is currently unknown.

Samsung has announced the P80 Premium (P480, P580) and P30 Essential (P430, P530) series laptops, and NB30 Pro netbook, all designed for business users.

The 14-inch P480 and 15.6-inch P580 feature the Intel Core i5-430M processor, Intel GMA HD integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard disk capacity, 1366×768 LED-backlit displays, a 0.3MP web camera, integrated microphone, stereo speakers, 802.11n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, and Windows 7 Professional operating system.

The 4.9-pound P480 and 5.5-pound P580 will be available late May for a price of $999.

Samsung’s 14-inch P430 and 15-inch P530 are lower-end models and feature the Intel Core i3-330M processor, Intel HD integrated GPU, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 250GB HDD, 1366×768 LED-backlit screens, a 0.3MP web camera, 802.11n WiFi, Ethernet LAN, and Windows 7 Pro.

Weighing 4.9 and 5.5 pounds, respectively, the P30 P430 and P530 Essential series laptops will start shipping in late May for $849.

The 10.1-inch Samsung NB30 Pro netbook, a business version of the regular NB30 model, includes the Intel Atom N450 processor, Intel GMA3150 integrated graphics, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, up to 160GB of hard disk space, 1024×600 display, 0.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n wireless, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, up to 6.5 hours of battery life, and Windows 7 Professional operating system.

The 2.73-pound NB30 Pro will be also available in late May for a price of $519.

Intel has showcased “the world’s thinnest netbook” at the ongoing Computex Show in Taipei.

Based on the new “Canoe Lake” platform, the 14mm thin netbook concept utilizes a dual-core mobile Atom CPU and runs cooler than current netbooks, according to Intel.

Intel has also revealed “Oak Trail” SoC (system-on-chip) Intel Atom processor–based platform “optimized for sleek tablet and netbook designs, delivering up to a 50 percent reduction in average power consumption with full HD-video playback and targeting software choice including MeeGo, Windows 7 and Google operating systems”.

The company says the first mobile dual-core Intel Atom processors are in production now and will hit the market before the winter holiday season, while the DDR3 supporting single-core Atom N455 and N475 chips are available today.

Acer has announced the 10.1-inch Aspire One D260 and Aspire One 533 netbooks, as well as 11.6-inch Aspire One 753 ultraportable.

The Acer Aspire One D260 (AOD260) features the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 / N455 processor, 1GB RAM, up to 250GB of hard drive space, a 1024×600 display, Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth 3.0, and Windows 7 or optional dual-boot Google Android / Windows 7 OS configuration.

The Aspire One 533 (AO533) netbook comes with the Atom N455 or N470 1.83GHz CPU, support for DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard disk, 1024×600 or 1280×720 display, integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and 3G options, an HDMI port, and claimed 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Acer’s 753 (AO753) includes the Intel Celeron U3400 ULV CPU, Intel HD graphics with 128MB dedicated memory, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 640GB HDD, 1366×768 display, Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth and 3G, and an HDMI output.

There’s no info on pricing and availability dates.

Hewlett-Packard has announced the HP Mini 100e 10.1-inch netbook designed for primary school students.

The kid-friendly Mini 100e features the Intel Atom N455 processor with GMA HD integrated graphics, 1GB of DDR3 memory expandable to 2GB, 160GB of hard disk space, a 3- or 6-cell battery, Windows 7 Starter, XP, or SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 OS, and an optional external DVD writer.

Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

HP’s Mini 100e also includes an integrated web camera, mono speaker, microphone, optional 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN, a modem, two USB ports, an SD card slot, a spill-resistant keyboard, and a VGA output.

The Mini 100e has a built-in carrying handle and weighs 3.19 pounds.

It will be available in July with an expected price under $300.

Samsung Electronics America has introduced the N230 and N220 stylish netbooks, and updated the N150 and NB30 models.

The 2.2-pound Samsung N230 has a glossy black finish and up to seven hours of battery life, while the 2.9-pound N220 has the Pointillist pattern in a polished green gradated color with chrome accents, and up to 10 hours of battery life.

The refreshed N150 (N150-11BL) now has a matte black finish with red accents and a anti-glare display. It provides up to 10-hour run time on a single charge. The latest NB30 (NB30-11B) has a blue case and up to 9.5 hours of battery life.

The netbooks have 10.1-inch displays, the Intel Atom N450 CPU, 250GB HDDs, 1GB DDR2 RAM, Windows 7 Starter OS, 0.3MP web cameras, and 802.11n Wi-Fi.

The updated N150-11BL, NB30-11B and the new N220 will be available through Samsung resellers beginning in June for $349, $359 and $369 respectively. The N230 netbook will be available in July for an MSRP of $399.

MSI has announced the Wind U135DX 10-inch netbook with a new design and DDR3 memory support.

The MSI Wind U135DX is coated in “MSI’s Color Film Print with elegant patterns set off by the NB’s silver trim and wavy lines”. The netbook features the Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, GMA 3150 integrated graphics, up to 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 160GB or larger hard disk, a 3-cell or optional 6-cell battery for up to 7 hours of run time, and Windows 7 Starter operating system.

Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

MSI’s new netbook also includes a chiclet-style keyboard, a “20% bigger” touchpad, 0.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, a 4-in-1 card reader, and a VGA output.

It starts at 2.65 pounds and comes in blue, red, or silver color.

Gateway Unveils LT23 Netbook

Gateway Inc. has announced the 10.1-inch Gateway LT23 Series netbook with a new fashionable design.

The Gateway LT23 features the Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, up to 250GB HDD, and a 6-cell battery for up to 8 hours of run time.

Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

Gateway’s 2.76-pound netbook also includes an integrated web camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, a VGA output, and a multi-in-one card reader.

According to the press release, the “new design features an organic woven pattern that appears to be mosaic, making it a chic fusion of classical design with a modern twist.” “The color-on-color pattern appears on the matte cover as well as the palm-rest, bringing a cohesive feel to the design of the Gateway LT23 Series, and ensuring that it looks incredibly stylish from any angle,” Gateway says.

It is available in champagne, pearl and black color.

The Gateway LT23 starts at $329.99.

Hewlett-Packard’s recently announced netbook for business users, the 10.1-inch HP Mini 5102, is available now.

The Mini 5102 comes with the Intel Atom Processor N450 at 1.66GHz, the Intel GMA HD graphics, optional Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for high-def video decoding, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space or up to 80GB of solid state drive storage, a 4- or 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Starter OS.

The netbook’s 10.1-inch LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600 or 1366×768 pixels. It is also expected to be available with an optional capacitive multi-touch display.

Other features include an optional handle, a 95% full-size keyboard, a built-in web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n WiFi, Gobi mobile broadband connectivity with GPS, optional Bluetooth, a LAN port, three USB ports, a media card reader, and a VGA output.

The 0.91-inch thin HP Mini 5102 starts at 2.64 pounds. It has an anodized-aluminum display enclosure and is available in three colors: red, blue, and black.
